J. Ivey is an independent multidisciplinary artist and designer working across identity, image-making, design systems, exhibitions, and public programming.
I came up designing rave flyers and working for dot com startups. I eventually took refuge in the bosom of an advertising agency and kicked around the creative departments. Ultimately to land back in startups and venture-backed work.
Based in Detroit, my work is informed by the city’s industrial heritage, independent publishing ethos, underground music, and any modernist manifesto typeset in swiss.
Because we are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of the dream.
